Over a million women worldwide develop breast cancer per year. It is the second leading cause of cancer death among women.

According to the American Cancer Society ("ACS") approximately one in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer during her lifetime. Nationwide, it is estimated that in 2005 217,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in the United States, and approximatley 40,200 women would die from this disease.
